How it Happened
The two teams played a very back-and-forth game throughout the first ten minutes, as the Gryphons jumped out to an early 10-2 lead but the Cannoneers refused to submit. Kylie Grant scored nine first-quarter points to help bring Pratt back into the game and end the first quarter with the Cannoneers trailing by just two points. The second quarter saw Pratt tie the game with just under six minutes remaining before the Gryphons went on a run to pull away and end the quarter up by 15 points, in part thanks to eight points from Colleen Coughlin.

The second half started with Tamura carrying the offensive load for the Gryphons, scoring 12 third-quarter points to help extend the Sarah Lawrence lead to 19 points and put the Gryphons in a position to win with 10 minutes remaining. As the fourth quarter commenced, the Gryphons sustained the lead they had built up and Haymore helped lead the offensive attack, scoring seven of her 20 points in the final period to keep the Gryphons in the lead through the final buzzer.
