LEXINGTON, Ky.  — The Sarah Lawrence College men's and women's volleyball programs were awarded with the USMC-AVCA Academic Team Award as announced by the organization on Monday afternoon.

The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

The honor marked the first appearance on the prestigious list for the women's program since the 2016-17 season. The women's program finished the 2021-22 school year with a cumulative GPA of 3.44.

In addition to the Academic Team Award, the men's volleyball team was also named to the Team Academic Honor Roll, given to programs representing the top 20 percent of team GPAS in their respective division. The men's team finished the 2021-22 school year with a cumulative GPA of 3.64.
