FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - Despite a career-high 26 points from senior
Chris Torres, the Sarah Lawrence College men's basketball team fell to the Old Westbury Panthers by a score of 78-70 on Wednesday night. The Gryphons will next host Farmingdale State who sits atop the Skyline's South division.

- Eamon Kelly added 13 points while connecting on all three of his attempts from the free-throw line

How it Happened
The two teams battled throughout the first half, with neither team extending their lead past four points until a connection from deep for the Panthers with 51 seconds remaining in the half gave them a 36-31 lead heading into the halftime break.
In the second half, the Panthers would come out of the locker room shooting the ball well from deep, using two three-pointers within a minute to jump out to a double-digit lead. Kyle Jefferson and the aforementioned Torres allowed the Gryphons to reduce the lead to just five points with one minute remaining in the game. Despite their valiant effort, time was not on Sarah Lawrence's side as the Panthers maintained their lead to the final buzzer to claim the victory.

The Gryphons (5-13, Skyline 2-6) will return home to host Farmingdale State on Saturday, January 28th with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at the Campbell Sports Center. The Rams are 6-2 in conference play this season and boast an 11-6 overall record.
