Gryphons Improve to 4-1 in Conference Play; Dominate CMSV 3-0

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's volleyball team defeated Mount Saint Vincent Tuesday night in three sets. The Gryphons now sit at 7-6 on the season and are 4-1 in Skyline contests.

  • Kaille Ferguson followed up her impressive showing against USMMA last week with a 22-dig performance

How it Happened

The Gryphons got ahead early in the first set and did not look back. Key kills by Carolyn Kelly, Georgi Massey, Mia Rector and the aforementioned Kazos helped the Gryphons jump out to a 12-2 lead that they would eventually turn into a 25-12 victory on the back of another kill by Massey.

The second set started with a 6-0 Dolphins lead, but the Gryphons would rally back with the next six points to tie the set again. After finding themselves tied at 11, the Gryphons would score five straight to take a 16-11 lead that they would carry over to a 25-20 set win thanks to a Skyler Kawecki-Muonio kill.

The third and final set was similar to the first, as Sarah Lawrence got ahead 9-1 and did not look back. One of Kazos's 12 kills sealed the victory for the Gryphons and gave them their fourth conference win in five contests.
