BRONX, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's basketball team fell to the Lehman College Lightning on Tuesday night by a score of 64-44. The Lightning led for the final 35 minutes of the contest after gaining a lead at the fifteen-minute mark in the first quarter.

  • Lucas Murray scored seven points and eight rebounds for SLC
  • Andrew Kim totaled five points while pulling down six rebounds and tallying four assists

How it Happened

The first half was highlighted by a 37% shooting effort by the Lightning that allowed them to pull ahead by 12 points at the intermission. The Lightning were propelled by 22 first-half bench points and 16 points off eight SLC turnovers. They also outscored the Gryphons in the paint significantly throughout the first 20 minutes. The Gryphons found some success through Kim in the first half, as the first-year scored five points in the first 20 minutes.

The second half saw the Lightning fail to connect from deep, but the Gryphons struggled to get to the line, only taking one free-throw in the final 20 minutes. 12 SLC turnovers turned into 16 Lehman points as the Lightning were able to maintain their lead throughout the half. Five late-game points by Aiden Morel were not enough for the Gryphons to gain ground on the hosts.
