Haymore Earns Double-Double against MSMC Knights

NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's basketball team fell to Mount Saint Mary College by a score of 82-35 on Saturday afternoon, falling to 3-2 in conference play this season.

  • Senior Kendall Haymore earned another double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds
  • Gladys Pierre scored four points off the bench while grabbing a career-best eight rebounds
  • Christina Reilly knocked down her lone shot of the day while totaling two blocks and three rebounds

How it Happened

The Knights used an 18-6 first quarter to get ahead of the Gryphons, getting five points apiece from Charlotte Twohig and Ciarra Quinn. The Gryphons would struggle from the field in the first period, doing most of their scoring from the free-throw line, going four-for-four. The second quarter was marked by Haymore's offensive effort, scoring eight points in the period but the Knights would pull ahead and lead 45-19 at halftime.

The third quarter would see the hosts pull away even more, winning the period 25-5 and holding the Gryphons to just two field goals in the period, both scores by Haymore. The fourth quarter would see the Gryphons get more going offensively, with Kaila Dorch, Josie Kent and the aforementioned Pierre and Reilly all scoring for SLC. The late offensive improvement would not be enough to overcome the large deficit and the Knights would claim a Skyline victory.
