BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - After four quarters of play on senior day at the Campbell Sports Center, the Sarah Lawrence College Gryphons fell to the Mount Saint Mary Knights by a score of 78-45 after a strong second half from the Knights. The Gryphons celebrated three seniors,
Ana Srdanovic,
Demitra Loukopoulos and
Jordyn Medina.
By the Numbers
- Kendall Haymore led the Gryphons with 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for another double double
- Kaila Dorch totaled 10 points in addition to grabbing eight rebounds
- Medina scored four points and tallied 11 rebounds for the Gryphons
How it Happened
Both teams started the game struggling on the offensive end, with neither team able to put up more than 13 points in the first quarter, combining for 18 turnovers and shooting a combined 9-34 from the field. In the second quarter of play the Knights would extend their lead to nine points thanks to a much improved shooting, going 9-for-18 from the field.
The second half would see the Knights pull away, extending their lead more each quarter until comfortably ahead of the Gryphons. The Knights scored 27 toal points off turnovers from the Gryphons and outscored Sarah Lawrence 40-18 in the paint.
