DiFabio's 27 Points Propels Gryphons over Knights

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - In his first game back since January 11th, Sarah Lawrence first year Justin DiFabio shot 75% from the field and 70% from three-point range, connecting seven times from deep as part of a 27-point effort to lead the Gryphons to an 84-61 victory over Mount Saint Mary on Saturday night. DiFabio led all scorers with his 27 points and set a new career-high in scoring, topping his 19-point effort against Ramapo in November.

By the Numbers
  • DiFabio pulled down two rebounds in addition to his 27 points
  • Fellow first year Eamon Kelly put up 13 points for the Gryphons to go along with four assists
  • Lucas Murray scored 10 points and pulled down five rebounds for Sarah Lawrence
How it Happened

The Gryphons jumped out to an early lead and did not look back, leading from 16:46 in the first half through the end of the game after a Brady Burman three-pointer gave them a 3-2 lead. Sarah Lawrence shot 47% from deep in the first half, converting on nine of their 19 attempts from behind the arc to build up their lead, featuring 17 of DiFabio's 27 points. The Gryphons used a 12-3 run over the last five minutes of the first half to carry a 44-19 lead into the halftime break.

The second half was much of the same, as the Gryphons continued to connect from the field and from deep at an impressive rate, shooting 5-of-8 from behind the arc in the second half and connecting on 54% of their total shots from the field throughout the period. DiFabio would score 10 more points and Kelly would put up seven second-half points to help lead the Gryphons offensively. Aiden Joyce, Peter Fathi, John Kairouz and Reuben Egan all scored in the final five minutes of the game to secure the win for the Gryphons and prevent the Knights from gaining any momentum.
