Men's Basketball Gets out to Strong Start against Roadrunners

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's basketball team started Sunday's game strong before a second-half comeback by Ramapo that gave the visitors a 75-64 victory over the Gryphons.

Notable Performers
  • Eamon Kelly scored a game-high 24 points, connecting five times from deep and pulling down seven rebounds
  • Chris Dougherty scored five points while pulling down a team-high 11 boards and blocking three shots
  • Dean Furlong scored four points while blocking a pair of shots and racking up four assists

How it Happened

Sarah Lawrence stormed out of the gate, building a 16-point lead midway through the first half. Key to their early success was Eamon Kelly's sharpshooting, as he notched 14 points in the first 20 minutes, including three long-range connections. The Gryphons moved the ball effectively, racking up 12 assists in the first half, and displayed grit on the boards with eight second-chance points. They took a 38-33 lead into halftime, buoyed by a balanced offensive attack and a 14-0 scoring run.
The second half, however, belonged to Ramapo. The Roadrunners capitalized on their depth and efficiency, shooting a blistering 85.7% from three-point range in the final 20 minutes. Peter Gorman led the charge with 20 points, including five three-pointers, as Ramapo's offense found its rhythm.
