How it Happened

The Gryphons led 30-20 at halftime, with Kelly hitting key shots to give Sarah Lawrence early momentum. Centenary then rallied in the second half, closing the gap to within a point midway through the period. However, Sarah Lawrence responded with a decisive run late in the game.

With less than four minutes remaining and the score tied at 55, Kelly drained a go-ahead three-pointer to give the Gryphons a 58-55 lead. Moments later, Fulmore Jr. hit two clutch free throws to extend the advantage. The Gryphons' defense then stepped up, forcing turnovers and limiting Centenary's offensive opportunities. A layup by Furlong in the final minute sealed the victory and brought the Gryphons back to .500 against a strong non-conference slate to open the year.
