Gryphons and Rams Face-Off in Friday-Afternoon Skyline Bout

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's basketball team suffered their first loss of 2025 on Friday afternoon, falling to the Rams of Farmingdale State by a score of 36-66. The Gryphons now sit at 3-5 in conference play.

Notable Performers
  • Kaila Dorch tallied nine points and eight rebounds, including three on the offensive boards
  • Emrie Pedraza tied Dorch for the team lead with nine points, adding an assist

How it Happened

The first quarter was dominated by the Rams, with a Josie Kent layup and a three-point play by Pedraza giving the Gryphons five points in the final two minutes and change, but the Rams stayed ahead thanks to 11 points from Gemma Pohalski. The second quarter opened with two minutes of scoreless basketball before Pohlaski ended the drought. The Gryphons fought back, with Kendall Stephens, Dorch and Gabby Hudson in the waning minutes of the half, but the Rams would take a sizable lead into the intermission. The SLC offense would show some life towards the end of the third quarter, with a Pedraza triple and an Ariana Spanopoulos jumper, but Pohalski would score her team's final seven points of the frame to keep the Rams comfortably ahead. Pedraza struck again from deep in the final frame, as did fellow first-year Audrey Mattison, but as the final buzzer rang, the Rams earned the conference victory over the Gryphons.
