Kent Pulls Down Career-High Rebound Total as Gryphons take on Bears in Skyline Battle

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's basketball team fell to the Bears of St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Tuesday night as the hosts dominated in the paint for the Skyline victory.

Notable Performers
  • Audrey Mattison knocked down a pair of triples for SLC while swiping a pair of steals
  • Emrie Pedraza and Josie Kent each pulled down eight rebounds, with Kent grabbing five on the offensive boards

How it Happened

The game was close early, with a Mattison triple and a pair of Lauryn Dunn free throws allowing the Gryphons to tie the game up at seven points apiece. The Bears would go on a run and pull away from SLC, and despite a score by Kent late in the quarter, the hosts took a nine-point advantage into the first intermission. Kaila Dorch opened the scoring in the second frame, but the Bears maintained the pressure, scoring 27 points in the frame to build up a comfortable lead by the halftime break. Another 20-point performance in the third quarter and a strong defensive effort by the Bears in the fourth would allow the hosts to cruise to their third conference victory of the season.

Up Next

The Gryphons (4-9, Skyline 3-6) will return to action on Thursday as they host the United States Merchant Marine Academy for a 5:00 p.m. showdown at the Campbell Sports Center.
