How It Happened
The Gryphons came out firing in the opening set, jumping to an early lead behind kills from Brynn Beck and Nikolet Vataj, along with a service ace from Costa. After Old Westbury closed the gap briefly, SLC went on a decisive run powered by Kazos, who racked up multiple kills and consecutive service aces during a 9–0 surge. Raegan Lacombe closed out the set with back-to-back aces, sealing a 25–10 win.
In the second set, the Gryphons again took early control thanks to quick sets from Costa and strong finishing from Beck, Kazos, and Vataj. Midway through the frame, Kazos delivered three straight kills, and Costa added a pair of assists to stretch the lead. Old Westbury had no answer for SLC's balanced attack, as Pantoliano added two service aces and Kazos closed the set with another kill to make it 25–13.
Sarah Lawrence continued its sharp play in the third set, shaking off a few early miscues before reasserting dominance. Beck opened with consecutive kills, followed by aces from both Vataj and Kazos to give the Gryphons a comfortable lead. The visitors briefly rallied, but SLC responded with kills from Kazos and Carolyn Kelly to rebuild momentum. Kazos capped the match with her final kill to secure a 25–16 win and the straight-set sweep.
