JAMAICA, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's tennis team dominated the York College Cardinals on Tuesday afternoon, dropping just one singles matchup in a 6-1 victory that moved the team back to .500 on the season. The Gryphons won all three doubles matchups before taking five of the day's six singles bouts as well for a commanding non-conference win.
The Gryphons started the day with a strong showing in doubles, as
Simon Kopecky and
Aidan Roney took a 6-2 victory at first doubles to get the Gryphons ahead in the match.
Jules Voorhoeve and
Max Gleason followed suit with a 6-1 victory in the second flight before
Gavin Wright and
Peter Fathi wrapped up doubles play with a 6-2 victory of their own. Kopecky continued a strong performance with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles, his second win without surrendering a game in his past three matches. Voorhoeve continued a strong first campaign with the Gryphons with a 6-0, 6-1 win in second singles, his third singles win in his last four appearances.
Avery Romano continued the team's winning ways with a 6-0, 6-0 victory that gave him two wins in his last three showings. Wright played the closest matchup of the day in fourth singles, taking a 6-3 lead before dropping the second set 4-6. Wright took a 10-4 victory in the tiebreaker set to keep the team on top and earn his second victory in three matches.
Noah Morley fell to York's Josanne Williams at fifth singles, the team's lone loss on the afternoon. Fathi then wrapped up the match with a 6-2, 6-3 singles win to move to 3-2 in singles play on the season and 6-2 combined.

The Gryphons (5-5, Skyline 1-4) will return to action on Thursday night against St. Joseph's Long Island at 5:30 p.m. as they search for their second conference victory of the season. The team will then wrap up their 2025 campaign on Saturday with a senior day matchup with Manhattanville at noon.
