Coughlin Continues Strong Play with 17-Point Effort against Rams

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence women's basketball team fell to the visiting Rams of Farmingdale State on Wednesday night, evening the season series as the teams head towards the Skyline Championships at the end of the month. The team will now look ahead towards senior day on Saturday, with a group of five seniors being honored prior to tip off.

Notable Performers How it Happened

The Gryphons got going early thanks to back-to-back buckets by Kaila Dorch and a make by Theriault to grab a 6-4 advantage. The teams found themselves knotted up five more times in the first quarter but a last-second make by the Rams sent the visitors into the break up by a score of 18-16. The second quarter saw the Rams jump ahead to a lead, despite a three-point play by Moore some late scores by Theriault, Coughlin and Gabby Hudson. Despite the late blitz from the Gryphons, the Rams held a 13-point advantage at the halftime intermission. The Gryphons cut the lead to eight early in the second half, thanks to a 5-0 run by Coughlin, but the visitors responded immediately and extended the lead to double-digits once again. The fourth quarter saw the Rams remain in control, with Audrey Mattison connecting from long-range while Moore, Coughlin and Theriault also converted. Despite the last-quarter scores, the visitors held on for a dominant Skyline victory, evening the season series between the two teams.
