BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's tennis team swept doubles play before a sixth-singles victory clinched the team's first victory of 2026. The Gryphons took wins at third, fourth and sixth singles to complete the win after a dominant doubles performance.
To start the match, the Gryphons dominated doubles play with a pair of 6-1 victories and a 6-4 win in the first flight. In the top flight,
Clayton Miller and
Jules Voorhoeve earned a 6-4 victory before
Leon Bronshvag and
Jozef Kandrac stayed hot and took a 6-1 victory in the second flight.
Avery Romano-Villani and
Aidan Roney combined for a third-flight victory to wrap up the sweep by a score of 6-1. In singles play, the Gryphons fell at the top two spots with Miller falling in straight 3-6 sets and Voorhoeve dropping a 5-7 tiebreaker and a 4-6 second set. In third singles, Bronshvag continued a superb season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory while Romano-Villani swept Brooklyn's fourth singles player by set scores of 6-4, 6-1.
Benjamin Berkson fell at fifth singles by scores of 6-2, 6-1 before Kandrac secured the victory in the sixth flight with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

The Gryphons (1-3, Skyline 0-2) will return to action on Saturday, March 28th with a noon matchup against John Jay. The Gryphons and Bloodhounds will face off at the USTA National Tennis Center as the Gryphons look to build off Friday night's victory.
