NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Sarah Lawrence men's tennis team edged out Mount Saint Mary College 4–3 on Saturday in Newburgh, using a strong showing in doubles play and key singles victories to secure the win, moving to 7-5 overall and 3-3 in Skyline play.
In doubles play, Clayton Miller and Jules Voorhoeve set the tone with a 6–0, 7–5 victory over John Paul Corini and Luke Baylis at No. 1, while Avery Romano-Villani and Gavin Wright added another point with a 6–0, 6–3 win against Dylan Stackpole and Christian Forcelli at No. 3. Mount Saint Mary's lone doubles point came at No. 2, where Sean Watson and Marco Collarelli defeated Leon Bronshvag and Jozef Kandrac 6–2, 6–4.
Holding a 2–1 lead, Sarah Lawrence split the singles matches to narrowly clinch the overall victory. At No. 1, Miller defeated Corini in a tight match, 7–6, 6–3. Bronshvag delivered a dominant 6–1, 6–1 win over Watson at No. 3, and Wright sealed the decisive fourth point with a commanding 6–0, 6–0 victory against Forcelli at No. 6. Mount Saint Mary earned its three points in singles, as Baylis defeated Voorhoeve 6–3, 6–1 at No. 2, Collarelli topped Romano-Villani 6–2, 7–5 at No. 4, and Stackpole beat Kandrac 6–3, 6–1 at No. 5, but those efforts fell just short as Sarah Lawrence held on for the 4–3 win.
