Kitty O'Sullivan (Los Angeles, Calif., Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy) landed six kills, as Sarah Lawrence pulled out a 25-21 set.
In the third set, the teams exchanged the lead six times and found themselves tied on 11 occasions. Spanbroek led all players with seven kills in the lengthy set, while Moore stepped up defensively with eight digs. A pair of Busk aces late in the set and kills by Spanbroek solidified a 29-27 set for the Gryphons, clinching the 3-0 victory.
Moore's double-double performance saw the setter notch 29 assists with 13 digs on the day. Spanbroek led all players with 16 kills total, while O'Sullivan also hit double figures with 14 successful attacks. Graham-Vannais had a match-high 14 digs, while Abdallah tallied 13 and Busk contributed 10. Busk also led all players with six aces.
Sarah Lawrence returns to its home court for a doubleheader on Saturday. The Gryphons open their Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) slate with a match against Culinary Institute of America at 1 p.m. before taking on John Jay College at 3 p.m.
