Three Gryphons Earn Skyline Recognition

NEW YORK—Three Sarah Lawrence student-athletes have been honored by the Skyline Conference as weekly award winners, as announced by the league on Monday.

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Juliet Slade (St. Paul, Minn./Central)
Slade lost just one game while winning a pair of Skyline singles matches at the No. 4 position and helping the Gryphons to two team victories. She recorded a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Purchase College and an 8-0 pro-set win over Purchase. Slade also teamed with senior Autumn Atkinson (Manasquan, N.J./George School) for a 2-0 mark in the No. 2 doubles position, giving the tandem their 32nd career victory. Slade has won her last six matches – three in singles play, and three in doubles action. Slade is the Gryphons' third Player of the Week honoree this season, following Atkinson (Oct. 5) and senior Sarah Fiordaliso (Buffalo, N.Y./Sweet Home) on Sept. 8.

MEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Colin Berg (Franklin, Mass./Mount Saint Charles Academy)
Berg played a hand in two of the Gryphons' goals in the 3-3 double-overtime Skyline draw against St. Joseph's College Brooklyn on Saturday. He scored the opening goal of the game, and three minutes later, he assisted Tahmid Munat (Dhaka, Bangladesh/Notre Dame) to give SLC an early 2-0 edge. Berg has scored two goals this season, adding a pair of assists. He is the team's second Rookie of the Week honoree after Mohamed Camara (Macenta, Guinea/New World) on Sept. 8.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Seven Green (Akwesasne/Frank Sinatra Sch. of the Arts)
Green registered 12 kills, 11 assists and 12 digs in a four-set match against Pratt Institute on Friday. She became the second SLC player to record a triple double in team history, following teammate CJ Kelly against Purchase on Oct. 4. Against Pratt, Green joined Kelley and junior Yolanda Lyne Cando (Arlington, Va./H-B Woodlawn) to become the first trio of Gryphons since 2012 to record a double-double in a single match. Green's Rookie of the Week selection is the second-straight for the Gryphons; Kelley received the distinction on Oct. 5 and previously on Sept 8.
