While John Jay's two fastest runners were ahead of their Gryphon counterparts, SLC won the tiebreaker with the latter three positions.

KAUFFMAN LEADS AGAINSenior
Mary Kauffman (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead) slipped under the 26-minute mark with a run of 25:54. She captured 14th place on the day, matching her 14th-place finish at Mount Saint Mary on October 3.
GRYPHONS SET PERSONAL BESTSIn back-to-back races, sophomore
Tiffany Meier (Goleta, Calif./Olive Grove Charter) finished as the Gryphons' No. 2 runner. She crossed the line in 33rd with a 6K personal best of 27:44. Behind her,
Isabel Edmonds (Appleton, Wisc./Appleton North) was the 46th runner to finish. She clocked in at 28:48, also a personal best at the distance.
BACK IN ACTIONAfter missing the Knight Invitational, sophomore
Katie Shepard (Big Pine, Calif./Mount Whitney) ran for the first time in three weeks and returned to the No. 4 position in the Gryphon running order. She broke into the top 50, finishing 49th in 28:56.

Nawshin Abanti (Dhaka, Bangladesh/International School Dhaka) also set a personal best at the 6K distance. Finishing in the team's critical No. 5 position, she stopped the clock at 30:11, good for 65th overall. Abanti beat out her next closest opponent by less than a tenth of a second, securing the critical place necessary to preserve the team's fifth-place standing. Rookie
Katherine Labadie (New Orleans, La./Benjamin Franklin) made her debut at the 6K distance and placed 72nd in 30:23.
CROSSING THE LINERookie
Molly Walsh (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) slid back to the No. 7 position on the team, finishing in 103rd with a mark of 34:07. Sophomore
Danielle Dyen-Shapiro (Estero, Fla./Cypress Lake) ran a personal best of 36:21 to finish in 130th and round out the Gryphon lineup.
UP NEXTSarah Lawrence has one more tune-up race before the start of the postseason. The Gryphons will compete at the St. Joseph's Long Island Invitational on Saturday, October 17 before heading to the Skyline Championship on October 25.
