SMITHTOWN, N.Y.-In the team's final race before the Skyline championship, Sarah Lawrence College men's cross country raced to 14th place at the 16th Annual St. Joseph's College Cross Country Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park on Saturday.

Zack Roccaforte (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) and junior
Pat Newsom (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) ran as a pair on the 5-mile course. Roccaforte was first across the line in 31:58, earning 58th place. Newsom followed in 59th place with a time of 32:10. The duo have finished as the top two Gryphons in each of the last five races.
RUNNING AS A PACKThe SLC team's remaining three runners kept close on the trail and finished within six places of each other. Sophomore
Ari Runanin-Telle (Fairfax, Va./Sir Francis Drake) ran a collegiate personal best, stopping the clock in 33:59 for 90th overall. Classmate
Daniel Higinbotham (Alpharetta, Ga./Homeschooled) was the next racer across the line, taking 91st in 34:12. Rookie
Vili Lehmann Boddicker (Encino, Calif./L.A. County HS for the Arts) rounded out the team close behind, placing 95th in 34:30, less than half a minute off his personal best.
