PURCHASE, N.Y.-Sarah Lawrence College men's swimming concluded its 2015-16 conference schedule by defeating Skyline rival Purchase College, 100-90, at PC Pool on Saturday.

Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) teamed with rookies
Dawa Lama (New York, N.Y./The Beacon School),
Anthony Lee (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) and
Jack Langland (Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa) to win the event in 1:52.40. Purchase responded to take a 17-14 lead after the 1000 freestyle. Martinez won the 200 freestyle in 1:56.29, putting the Green and White back on top. Lee clocked-in at second place (23.50) in the 50 freestyle, and after four events, the score was tied 33-33.
Purchase's Sam Jaffe picked up one of his three wins by taking first in the 200 individual medley, giving the Panthers a 44-41 edge. Lama (2:27.63) and rookie
Derick Edgren (Fort Collins, Colo./Auburn (Ill.)) (2:32.70) were second and third in the event, respectively.
After the break, Martinez won the 100 butterfly (57.58) by nearly 10 seconds, giving the Gryphons a 53-48 advantage. Lee dominated the 100 backstroke, winning in 1:02.12, more than 25 seconds ahead of the field. Langland earned an individual win in the 500 free with a career-best 6:09.00, and with two events remaining, SLC led by a nearly-insurmountable 20 points, 88-68.
Needing to finish the final two events without a disqualification, the Gryphons coasted to victory despite a pair of Purchase wins. Lama (1:11.21) and Edgren (1:13.72) took second and third place in the 100 breaststroke. The 200 free relay team of
Jericho Walker-Roberts (Ashland, Ore./Ashland), Edgren,
Charles Allard (Fall River, Mass./B.M.C. Durfee) and
Nick Ransom (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) ended the day with a second-place time of 1:52.19.
IN THE RECORD BOOKWith the win, SLC clinches its second winning record in the last three seasons. With one dual meet remaining in the 2015-16 season, the Gryphons will at least equal the team's 4-3 record from 2013-14. This season's team has also earned the first winning Skyline record, going 3-2 in SLC's second year in the league.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCESWalker-Roberts made his season debut with a runner-up swim in the 100 free (59.09). Rookie
Callum Bayle-Spence (Brooklyn, N.Y./Friends Seminary) finished third in both the 1000 freestyle (15:54.99) and 100 backstroke (1:30.15).
Shaurya Chawla (New Delhi, India/Pathways World School) posted a pair of third-place finishes, competing in the 200 free (2:58.54) and 100 butterfly (1:40.18). Ransom placed third in the 100 freestyle (1:06.74), and Allard was third in the 500 free with a career-best 7:33.24.
