TOP GRYPHONS
With the Gryphons competing against NCAA Division II programs, three SLC harriers were among the top half of the field. Sophomore
Rosa Mykyta-Chomsky (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends School) led the team across the finish with a 10th-place showing in 23:28 on the 5K course. Classmate
Molly Walsh (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) followed closely, earning 12th in 24:13. Sophomore
Isabel Edmonds (Appleton, Wisc./Appleton North) also broke 8:00/mile with a finish of 24:39, good for 14th place overall.
OTHER PERFORMANCES
In the second pack of Gryphons, senior
Allyson Panton (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) placed 20th, clocking in at 25:37. Junior
Tiffany Meier (Goleta, Calif./Olive Grove Charter) was 13 seconds behind, placing 21st wtih a mark of 25:50. Sophomore
Katherine Labadie (New Orleans, La./Benjamin Franklin) posted a time of 26:33 to take 23rd place, and junior
Katie Shepard (Visalia, Calif./Mount Whitney) was next across the finish in 24th at 26:41. Rookie
Natalie Wyse (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) led the final cluster of Gryphons, placing 31st in a time of 30:44. Junior
Dani Dyen-Shapiro (Estero, Fla./Cypress Lake) clocked in at 32:39 for 32nd, beating out senior
Melissa Molina (Union, N.J./Roselle Catholic) by a second, who took 33rd in 32:40. Rookies
Zhe Wu (Guangzhou, China/Nansha College Prep. Acad.) and
Brooke Remsen (Rye, N.Y./Convent of the Sacred Heart) rounded out the field in 35th (34:14) and 36th (34:18), respectively.
UP NEXT
Next weekend, Sarah Lawrence returns to the team's training grounds at Van Courtlandt Park. The Gryphons will run at the York Invitational on September 25.
