BRONX, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College cross country competed at the 2016 York Invitational at Van Courtlandt Park on Sunday. In a field of 22 teams, the Gryphons' men's team broke into the top half with a 10th-place finish.

Zack Roccaforte (Albuquerque, N.M./Albuquerque Academy) placed 24th to lead the team for the third-straight race. He clocked in at 30:31, setting an 8K season-best. Just seconds later, senior
Pat Newsom (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) took nearly 40 seconds off of his season-best time and crossed the line in 30:48; his effort was good for 29th overall. Junior
Daniel Higinbotham (Alpharetta, Ga./Homeschooled) also made it into the top 50, crossing the line in 49th position with a time of 32:15.
ROOKIES
First year
Nathaniel Gabor (Amherst, Mass./Amherst-Pelham Regional) posted a time of 34:58 to be the fourth Gryphon across the line in 89th place. In a show of consistency, he posted his third collegiate time under 35 minutes. Rookie
Bill Chang (Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge) was the only Sarah Lawrence man to run a collegiate best time, clocking in at 43:17 for 139th place.
