BRONX, N.Y.—Gryphons
Molly Walsh (Yarmouth, Maine/Yarmouth) and
Rosa Mykyta-Chomsky (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends School) each recorded a top-10 finish to lead Sarah Lawrence College women's cross country to a runner-up finish at the 2016 Baruch Invitational at Van Courtlandt Park on Sunday.

GRYPHONS AMONG TOP TEN
Walsh recorded the first top-10 finish of her career after averaging 7:35 per mile over the 6K course. The sophomore crossed the line in a career-best of 28:15, good for seventh place overall. Right on her heels, classmate Mykyta-Chomsky was three seconds behind in eighth place. The duo helped the Gryphons to a second-place finish overall, one spot better than their third-place finish as a team in 2015.
CHASE GROUP
The next three Gryphons crossed the line within 10 seconds of each other. Senior
Allyson Panton (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) was 21st in a career-best time of 30:19 followed by sophomore
Isabel Edmonds (Appleton, Wisc./Appleton North) in 22nd place with a time of 30:24.
Katherine Labadie (New Orleans, La./Benjamin Franklin) rounded out the scoring runners in 30:28, good for 24th overall. Junior
Katie Shepard (Visalia, Calif./Mount Whitney) posted a 28th-place finish in 30:47.
THE GRYPHONS
Mei Takehana (Tokyo, Japan/Perkiomen School) made her collegiate debut with a 50th-place finish of 33:19. Senior
Melissa Molina (Union, N.J./Roselle Catholic) set a personal best with her time of 37:17 to finish 66th.
Dani Dyen-Shapiro (Estero, Fla./Cypress Lake) crossed the line in 75th place with a time of 38:24.
Natalie Wyse (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) made her debut with a time of 38:51 for 78th. Rookie
Brooke Remsen (Rye, N.Y./Convent of the Sacred Heart) ran 46:51 in her first collegiate race, placing 89th.
