NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Sarah Lawrence softball team suffered a pair of losses Monday, falling to Sewanee in the opening game, 6-0, followed by a 12-3 loss to Maine Presque-Isle in the nightcap.

Sewanee scored one run in the opening frame, taking advantage of a Gryphons' miscue. The Tigers plated two more runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth en route to their first victory of the year.
Sarah Lawrence had opportunities to score but were unable to convert, leaving four runners on base.
Maine Presque-Isle 12, Sarah Lawrence 3
The Gryphons got off to a strong start, scoring two runs in the first inning.
Baylie Petit drove in two runs with a two-out single to right field.
