KINGS PARK, N.Y. – Alejandra Pasquel completed the 5-kilometer SJNY Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park in a time of 31:12.45 to lead a contingent of four racers for the Sarah Lawrence College women's cross country team.
Pasquel finished in 99th place out of the 145 harriers in the prestigious race that included competitors from the NCAA Division II and Division III levels as well as the NJCAA.
With only four competing in the event, SLC did not register a team score as five racers are required for the team standings, but Sahki Singhi and her teammates did not let that deter their efforts.
Singhi tallied a 103
rd place finish with a time of 32:08.21 while teammate
Mikaella Garcia finished in 33:36.90 for 110
th place.
Veronica Endres concluded the group of Gryphons taking part in the event as she finished in a time of 39:33.99 for a 129
th place result.
NEXT UP
Eight days will separate competitions but the next one is the biggest of the season as the Gryphons will work to prepare for the Skyline Conference championship hosted by Mount Saint Mary at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y., on Sunday, Oct. 23 at a time to be announced later this week.
