Box Score NEW YORK—Sarah Lawrence College women's soccer was defeated by The King's College (N.Y.), 9-1, in a non-conference game at Randall's Island Park on Saturday.
King's (3-2) struck first in the 10th minute, and added goals in the 24th and 29th minutes to take a 3-0 lead.
Sarah Lawrence (2-3) got on the scoreboard in the 39th minute. Captain
Sadie Rose Zavgren (Wilton, N.H./Homeschooled) scored her first goal of the season to narrow the gap to 3-1.
The Lions scored once more in the first half and added five second-half goals to close out the game.
In addition to Zavgren's goal, rookie
Tori Davis (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Cranbrook Kingswood) added two shots on goal, while classmate
Clara Ezcurra (Hurlingham, Argentina/St. Hilda's College) added another. Senior
Elle Blanchet (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) and sophomore
Auden Hargrove (Los Angeles, Calif./South Bay Faith Acad.) also had shots on the day.
Rookie goalkeeper
Noelle Clark (Yonkers, N.Y./The Calhoun School) posted the season's highest save total, notching 12 deflections between the pipes.
Sarah Lawrence has most of the week off and returns to action on Friday when the Gryphons travel to their Skyline Conference debut at Maritime College (N.Y.).
