CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEWSaturday's race was run on the same 5K course that the Skyline will use for the conference championship on October 25. In addition to meet victor St. Joseph's, Saturday's field included Mount Saint Mary (eighth), Sage (ninth), Farmingdale State (13th), Maritime (15th) and Purchase (16th). Mount Saint Vincent was also present but did not field a full team.
TAKING IT EASYFollowing heavy rain throughout the week, the soggy course provided tricky conditions. Rather than risk injury on unsure footing, Head Coach
Erin Pomykala directed her team to take it easy. "We didn't worry about our times today since the conditions were rough and a few of our runners have lingering injuries. Today's race gave the team a chance to learn the course in preparation for the championship."
