Women's Cross Country Takes 3rd at SUNY Cobleskill

—Sarah Lawrence College women's cross country posted its second-straight third-place team finish, taking a podium spot at the 2015 Steven Warde Invitational, hosted by SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday.

MARY KAUFFMAN (Marblehead, Mass., Marblehead)
Kauffman continued a streak of six straight races finishing among the top five runners. The senior Skyline Runner of the Week took fourth place on the day, narrowly missing the 20-minute mark with a run of 20:13.

ISABEL EDMONDS (Appleton, Wisc., Appleton North)
Edmonds crossed the line as the No. 2 Gryphon for the second-straight race. She crossed the line in 19th place amidst a scramble of runners trying to break into the top 20. Her time of 21:53 puts her in third-place on the all-time 5K leader board in the Gryphon record book.

TIFFANY MEIER (Goleta, Calif., Olive Grove Charter)
The sophomore missed out on the top 20, placing 21st for the second-straight week. Meier stopped the clock at 21:54, more than a minute faster than her previous 5K personal best and tied for fourth in the SLC record book.

KATIE SHEPARD (Big Pine, Calif., Mount Whitney)
Shepard vaulted up the lineup to finish as the team's No. 4 runner. The sophomore finished in 28th place, duplicating her 5K collegiate best of 22:36.

MOLLY WALSH (Yarmouth, Maine, Yarmouth)
Walsh moved up a spot from last week's race, finishing in 31st place. She narrowly missed cracking the 23-minute mark, crossing the line in 23:03.

NAWSHIN ABANTI (Dhaka, Bangladesh, International School Dhaka)
The sophomore earned 37th place with a time of 23:41, more than 2.5 minutes faster than her 5K personal best. Moving up a spot from a 38th-place finish last week, Abanti's best invitational was 34th in the 2014 season finale.

PAULINE STANFIEL (South Bend, Ind., John Adams)
For the second-straight week, Stanfiel crossed the line as the Gryphons' final official runner in team scoring. She placed 38th in 23:42, right on the heels of Abanti.

MARISA ACOSTA (San Diego, Calif., Canyon Crest Academy)
Acosta finished the event in 48th place in 24:39. Her previous 5K best was 27:52, marking more than three minutes of improvement.

ALLYSON PANTON (Westfield, N.J., Westfield)
In her first collegiate 5K, Panton slipped into the top 50 in 49th place. Her mark of 24:42 put her three seconds behind Acosta.

DANIELLE DYEN-SHAPIRO (Estero, Fla., Cypress Lake)
Dyen-Shapiro crossed the line in 29:11, breaking the 30-minute mark for the first time in her career. Her previous 5K best was 30:12.
