Day 1 Recap | Day 2 Recap

Day 3 Time Trial | Day 3 Preliminaries | Day 3 Finals

ITHACA, N.Y.-
With a victory in the 200 butterfly, senior Cameron Martinez (Aledo, Texas/Aledo) won his sixth and final career UNYSCSA title to lead Sarah Lawrence College men's swimming on day three of the 2016 Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association Championships, hosted by Ithaca College on Friday. Action concludes on Saturday at the Ithaca Athletics & Events Center Aquatics Pavilion.

IN SHORT
After day three, SLC surrendered its 12th-place tie and slipped to 13th place with 195 points. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is in full control of first place with 1,092 points.

MARTINEZ SWIMS TO BUTTERFLY VICTORY
In his final individual event of the meet, Martinez swam to victory in the 200 yard butterfly. In the morning's qualifier, he secured a spot in the finals with a second-place swim of 1:53.51. During the championship final, Martinez fell to third place at the midpoint of the race, trailing opponents from Hartwick College and Stevens Institute of Technology. His penultimate 50 yards were the fastest among the field, and he dominated his opponents in the final 50, winning by nearly three-quarters of a second in 1:51.42. The UNYSCSA title is Martinez's sixth of his career, as he is the only swimmer among the league's 15 teams to win a men's butterfly event since 2014. Martinez completes his career having placed among the top 10 in all 12 of his individual events at the association's championships.

LEE BREAKS 50 FREE RECORD

Martinez, Lee, junior Jericho Walker-Roberts (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) and rookie Jack Langland (Ottumwa, Iowa/Ottumwa) combined for a time of 7:33.99.
