CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Sarah Lawrence sophomore
Chaz Stafford had a fantastic weekend, leading the Gryphons men's swimming team at the two-day Snow Flurries Invitational hosted by SUNY Cortland at Harriet Holsten Pool.
STAFFORD'S PERFORMANCE
Stafford was the meet's top performer, finishing with a score of 60, accumulating 594.5 points. The sophomore was the top performer in three events. Stafford was victorious in the 500-free, finishing the race in 4:49.93, six seconds faster than the second-place swimmer. His time is also a season-best by 10 seconds.
In the 200-free, Stafford was the best swimmer, touching the wall in 1:47.82, a season-best. He also posted a first-place performance in the 1650 free, completing the race in 16:57.92.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Mani Roshandel was victorious in the 200-breast, finishing in 2:16.31, a season-best. Roshandel was also the runner-up in the 200-IM, touching the wall in 2:04.35, a season-best by six seconds. He also had his best mark of the year in the 100-breast, finish third in 1:01.84.
Miles Washington posted season-best performances in the 50-free (23.00), 100-fly (57.05) and 100-free (51.17).
Bryce Williams had his best swim of the year in the 200-free (2:12.21), 100-fly (1:03.23) while
Pratamesh Raghunandhan had strong showings in the 50-free (33.04), and 100-free (1:16.47).
Nicholas Alpi turned in season-best efforts in the 50-free (28.11), 200-free (2:12.21) and 100-free (1:02.62), while
Ned Checketts posted his best performances of the year in the 50-free (24.91), 100-breast (1:24.59) and 100-free (57.80).
