PURCHASE, N.Y. – Chaz Stafford won two Skyline championships, highlighted by a record-breaking performance, to lead the Sarah Lawrence men's swimming team to a third-place finish at the two-day 2020 Skyline Swimming & Diving Championships at Purchase College.

STAFFORD EARNS SKYLINE TITLES
For a second consecutive year, Stafford was crowned Skyline Champion in the 1,000-free. The sophomore was the top performer with a time of 9:59.50, breaking his own school standard of 10:00.97.
Stafford won gold in the 500-free for a second consecutive campaign, winning the race in 4:50.74, nearly four seconds faster than the second-place swimmer. Â
Stafford also reached the podium in the 200-free, finishing third with a time of 1:49.02. In addition, Stafford scored in the 100-free with a time of 49.98, his best effort in the event this season. Â
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Mani Roshandel reached the podium in the 200-breast, finishing third with a time of 2:17.03. The sophomore also added to the Gryphons' point total in the 100 breast, finishing fourth with a time of 1:02.80. He also scored in the 200-IM, finishing fourth with a time of 2:03.80, his best swim of the season. Roshandel also posted his best swim of the year in the 50-free (23.74).
Miles Washington scored in four events for SLC. Washington posted a top-10 finish in the 200-free with a time of 2:00.55, shaving five seconds off his previous best. The sophomore also scored in the 50-free (23.08) and 100-free (50.75). In addition, Washington scored in the 100-fly, posting a top-10 effort of 56.88.
Competing in his first conference championship meet,
Bryce Williams scored in the 200-fly with a time of 2:27.59, a season-best. The rookie also scored in the 500-free with a mark of 5:49.27, shaving five seconds off his season-best. Williams also posted his best performance of the year in the 200-free (2:08.98).

Nicholas Alpi (2:26.39) posted season-best efforts in the 200-free (2:26.39) and 100-free (1:01.88).
RELAYS
In the 200-medley relay, a team of Stafford, Roshandel, Washington and Alpi reached the podium with a third-place effort, finishing in 1:49.01.
Sarah Lawrence also reached the podium in the 400-free relay, as a quartet comprised of Roshandel, Williams, Washington and Stafford finished third with a time of 3:31.73.
