Equestrian Takes Sixth at Drew / SLC Show

READINGTON, N.J.—In the team's second show of the season, Sarah Lawrence College equestrian rode at the Drew University / Sarah Lawrence College Show at Briarwood Farms on October 6. With 10 ribbons on the day, the Gryphons matched their impressive total from their season opener at Marist a week prior.

Alex Dennis-Renner (Omaha, Neb./Brownell-Talbot College Prep.) led the team, bringing home another pair of ribbons. The senior captain placed third in Novice on the Flat and scored a fourth-place finish in Novice over Fences.

Fellow captain Camille Meder (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) also placed in both her rides. She duplicated her performance from the prior week, earning fifth place in Novice over Fences and fourth place in Novice on the Flat.

Sophomore Viktoria Czaran (Hartsdale, N.Y./United Nations International) picked up the team's best finish on the day, securing a red ribbon (second place) in the Walk Trot class.

Sophomores Weronika Kosior (Opole, Poland/Mahindra UWC of India) and Emma Nogami (Denver, Colo./Smoky Hill) both improved in their second ride of the season. The Gryphons both took third place in their respective groups of Advanced Walk Trot Canter.

Rookie Lesedi Ntsele (Johannesburg, South Africa/Interlochen Arts Academy) improved two positions from her season-opening ride, moving up to fourth place in her Walk Trot group. Also riding Walk Trot, senior Jillian Richardson (Austin, Texas/St. Andrews Episcopal) collected her second ribbon of the season with a sixth-place ride.

Junior Victoria Zawadzki (Falls Church, Va./The Ethel Walker School) rounded out the Gryphons with a sixth-place finish in Novice over Fences.

Sarah Lawrence equestrian is set for double-duty this weekend. The Gryphons ride at the U.S. Military Academy Show at Centenary College on Saturday before heading to the William Paterson Show at the West Milford Equestrian Center on Sunday.
