Equestrian Collects 15 Ribbons in Two-Show Weekend

NEWFOUNDLAND, N.J.—In a double-duty weekend for the Gryphons, Sarah Lawrence College equestrian rode at the U.S. Military Academy Show at Centenary College on Saturday and showed at the William Paterson Show at the West Milford Equestrian Center on Sunday. In both shows, the Green and White took eighth-place honors.

At Saturday's USMA Show, Victoria Zawadzki (Falls Church, Va./The Ethel Walker School) was SLC's only rider to place in two classes. The junior rode to fifth place in Novice on the Flat and a season-best fifth-place finish in Novice Over Fences.

Sophomore Weronika Kosior (Opole, Poland/Mahindra UWC of India) rode to fourth place in Walk-Trot-Canter, earning her third ribbon of the season.

Three Gryphons placed in their respective Walk Trot groups. Senior Jillian Richardson (Austin, Texas/St. Andrews Episcopal) and rookie Lesedi Ntsele (Johannesburg, South Africa/Interlochen Arts Academy) each captured fifth place, while sophomore Viktoria Czaran (Hartsdale, N.Y./United Nations International) earned sixth place.

Senior captain Alex Dennis-Renner (Omaha, Neb./Brownell-Talbot College Prep.) rounded out the Gryphons' seven ribbons with a fifth-place ride in Novice Over Fences.

On Sunday, the Green and White captured eight ribbons at the William Paterson Show. Dennis-Renner rebounded to place in both novice classes, taking fourth on the flat and a season-best third-place over fences.

Zawadski also placed twice, earning fifth place in Novice on the Flat and sixth place over fences, bringing her ribbon total to six on the season.

Captain Camille Meder (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) won her first ribbon of the weekend, capturing a season-best third-place finish in Novice Over Fences.

Once again, SLC's Walk Trot riders captured a trio of ribbons. Richardson had her best ride of the year to take third place in her group, while Czaran and Ntsele earned fifth place in their respective groups.

Sarah Lawrence rides next at a pair of All-Region Shows at Briarwood Farms in Readington, N.J. The Gryphons enter the ring on Sunday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 10.
