Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College softball was defeated Lehman College, 13-2 and 18-0, in a non-conference doubleheader at Mary LeVine Field on Saturday.

In the first game, Lehman (2-13) struck first with two runs on two hits in the top of the first inning. Sarah Lawrence (0-7) responded as the first two Gryphon batters reached base and advanced into scoring position on a fielder's choice. Rookie Lauren Gray (Sea Cliff, N.Y., Waldorf School of Garden City) batted one run home before pitcher Rebecca Kuntz (Northridge, Calif., Chaminade College Preparatory) came to the plate and drove home the tying run on an RBI-single.

After a scoreless second inning, the Lightning hit twice to score a run to go ahead 3-2. The fourth inning saw both teams struggle offensively, but Lehman's Chariny Graciano led off with a double in the fifth inning and came home for a 4-2 advantage.

Lehman picked up three more runs in the sixth inning, including a pair on a double by Xiomara Pacheco. The Lighting put the game out of reach with a five-run seventh inning for the 13-2 victory.

Kuntz finished the complete game with four strikeouts against three walks and only four earned runs. Lehman's Janet Ortiz earned the win by allowing only three hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Ortiz dominated the day's second game with an impressive performance on both sides of the ball. Lehman stole the game with a 13-run second inning that included a grand-slam by the pitcher. She added a two-run homer in the fourth inning and closed out the game with no hits and only two walks.

In her second appearance of the season, Sarah Lawrence pitcher Anhad Hundal (New Delhi, India/Vasant Valley School) yielded eight earned runs with two strikeouts and four walks.

Sarah Lawrence returns to its home field on Tuesday when the team hosts the Yeshiva University club team for a doubleheader at 4 p.m.
