LaGRANGEVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College equestrian opened the 2013-14 season by showing at the Marist College / Vassar College Show at Crosswinds Equestrian Center on Saturday. The Gryphons collected 10 ribbons en route to a sixth-place team finish.

Senior Alex Dennis-Renner (Omaha, Neb./Brownell-Talbot College Prep.) earned SLC's only red ribbon on the day, taking second place in the Novice On the Flat class. Dennis-Renner, who previously rode with the Gryphons in 2010-11, also garnered a fourth-place finish in Novice Over Fences.

Senior Camille Meder (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) also collected two ribbons on the day. She took fourth in Novice Over Fences and finished fifth in Novice On the Flat.

Junior Victoria Zawadzki (Falls Church, Va./The Ethel Walker School) performed well, collecting a yellow ribbon with her third-place ride in the Novice On the Flat class.

Sophomore Weronika Kosior (Opole, Poland/Mahindra UWC of India) placed fourth in Advanced Walk Trot Canter, while classmate Emma Nogami (Denver, Colo./Smoky Hill) followed with a fifth-place ride in the same class.

In Walk Trot, sophomore Viktoria Czaran (Hartsdale, N.Y./United Nations International) and senior Jillian Richardson (Austin, Texas/St. Andrews Episcopal) took fifth place in each of their respective groups. Newcomer Lesedi Ntsele (Johannesburg, South Africa/Interlochen Arts Academy) rounded out the Gryphons' place winners with a sixth-place ride in her Walk Trot group.

On Sunday, Sarah Lawrence joins with Drew University to host the region's second IHSA Show of the season. The event takes place at Briarwood Farms in Readington, N.J. on October 6.
