Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
QUEENS, N.Y.—In the team's penultimate regular-season doubleheader, Sarah Lawrence College softball was bettered by St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 9-0 and 12-0, in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at Padavan-Preller Field on Sunday.

Sarah Lawrence (0-22, 0-2 HVIAC) was held to just one hit in game one. In the top of the second inning, sophomore Lauren Gray (Sea Cliff, N.Y./Waldorf School of Garden City) led off with an infield single.
The Gryphons held St. Joseph's (13-15, 2-0 HVIAC) to one run on two hits through two innings. In the third, rookie Lara Tshering (Thimphu, Bhutan/The Regent's School Pattaya (Thailand)) reached first base on a walk but was unable to advance any further.

SJC furthered the scoring with three runs in the bottom of the third inning and five more in the fourth.

The Green and White added one more base runner when junior Hayley Adams (Dover, N.H./Berwick Academy) reached on an error, but the Lady Bears closed out the game without allowing a Gryphon to reach as far as second base.

In game two, Gray again recorded the Gryphons' only hit, this time in the first inning. St. Joseph's scored three in the bottom of the frame, and after dismissing SLC in order, added eight in the bottom of the second.

Senior Mackenzie Gassett (Camden, Maine/Camden Hills Regional) walked in the third, and the SLC defense kept St. Joseph's off the scoreboard in the inning. The Lady Bears scored their final run in the fourth inning and knocked off seven straight batters to clinch the 12-0 shutout.

Sophomore Rebecca Kuntz (Northridge, Calif./Chaminade College Preparatory) tossed her 10th complete game of the season, notching one strikeout. Rookie Rebecca Somogyi (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishiop John Carroll) totaled three innings and one strikeout from the circle.

Sarah Lawrence concludes the regular season with a visit to HVIAC rival College of New Rochelle. The Gryphons will face the Blue Angels at Flowers Part on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
