ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College women's cross country recorded its third-straight top-10 finish, as the Gryphons competed at the 2014 Bard College Invitational on Saturday. SLC placed 10th in the team standings, following 10th-place and third-place finishes in the prior two weeks.
On the "6K" course, sophomore
Natalie Grieco (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Fenwick) finished as SLC's top runner for the second-straight week; she crossed the line in 19:33 for 23rd place. Senior
Elizabeth Emery (Mexico, N.Y./Mexico) moved up a spot in the lineup to finish as the second Gryphon, placing 38th in 20:17.
Rookie
Katherine Shepard (Visalia, Calif./Mount Whitney) was next across the line in Green and White; she took 46th place in 20:55. Classmate
Tiffany Meier (Goleta, Calif./Olive Grove Charter) moved up to the No. 4 spot on the team, stopping the clock in 23:45.
Rookies
Georgia Cohen (New York, N.Y./UNC School of the Arts) and
Nawshin Abanti (Dhaka, India/International School Dhaka) finished back-to-back with times of 23:50 and 23:55, respectively. Fellow first year
Marisa Acosta (San Diego, Calif./Canyon Crest Academy) followed a minute later, crossing the line in 25:07.
Sophomore
Melissa Molina (Union, N.J./Union) took two minutes off her time from last week, finishing in 25:20, and rookie
Danielle Dyen-Shapiro (Estero, Fla./Cypress Lake) finished the race in 35:13.
