GRYPHONS GET TWO WINSReigning Skyline Swimmer of the Week
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) picked up one of the Gryphons' two victories by winning the 200 yard breaststroke; her time of 2:32.84 is a season best in the event and little more than a second off her SLC-record mark. Lawson also had an individual runner-up performance in the 200 freestyle (2:11.66).
Rookie
Devon Peal (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) also picked up an individual victory, touching the wall first in the 200 yard backstroke (2:20.92). Her debut time in the event puts her at No. 2 on SLC's all-time performance list. Peal also swam the 1650 freestyle (20:10.06) for the first time in her collegiate career, earning second place. Along with her 1000 free split of 12:08.88, Peal put herself in the No. 2 position on both events' performance lists.

Gabby Risica (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett) and
Jacqueline Quirk (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) as members of the second-place 400 yard medley relay (4:25.02). Despite putting together their fastest time of the season, the Gryphons were edged by 0.87 second in the day's opening event. Risica opened the relay with a season-best 100 backstroke split (1:08.67) and also placed third in the 50 freestyle (27.66). Quirk placed third in both her individual swims, setting a personal best in the 200 freestyle (2:13.30) and a season-best in the 200 breaststroke (2:51.18).
SOPHOMORE QUARTETFour sophomores combined to score more than a quarter of SLC's points. Setting a pair of personal bests,
Sarah Schnapp (Taiwan/Tzu Chi) took second in the 400 individual medley (5:54.20) and third in the 500 freestyle (6:32.06).
Rachel Barkowitz (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) earned third in the 400 IM (6:14.88) and was fourth in the 100 free (1:12.19). Sophomore
Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento) picked up points with fourth-place in the 200 backstroke (2:36.76) and a personal-best in the 50 free (28.60). Classmate
Kiki Michaan (New York, N.Y./Saint Ann's School) also had a personal best in the 100 free.

Sam Amberchan (Alameda, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) recorded a third-place swim in the 200 butterfly (2:43.51) and added a point in her season debut in the 500 freestyle. Junior captain
Lydia Mullan (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) tallied points in the 200 butterfly. Kroll, Amberchan, Mullan and Schnapp rounded out the scoring with a third-place swim in the 400 freestyle relay; Kroll's 100 free lead-off split (1:04.07) was a new personal best.
UP NEXTSarah Lawrence takes on Maritime College and host St. Joseph's College Long Island on the road on Friday. The Gryphons compete in their final home meet of the season on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 1:30 p.m. against SUNY College at Old Westbury and St. Joseph's College Brooklyn.
