BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—In the team's first dual meets of the season, Sarah Lawrence College women's swimming came away with a pair of wins after defeating Skyline rival College of Mount Saint Vincent, 134-44, and non-conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill, 126-59, at Campbell Sports Center on Saturday.

PEAL BREAKS TWO RECORDSRookie
Devon Peal (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) put her name on the record board for the first time in her career, breaking a pair of team records in Saturday's meet. The first-year Gryphon set a new team best with her winning swim in the 400 yard individual medley (5:11.13), and she went on to win the 500 freestyle in a record time of 5:42.20.
LAWSON EARNS SOLO WINSSophomore
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School) won two individual races in the meet. She swam a career best 2:08.24 to touch the wall first in the 200 yard freestyle. Later, Lawson won the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.92. Lawson and Peal also earned a third win on the day, as the two teamed with
Gabby Risica (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett) and
Jacqueline Quirk (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) to win the final event, the 400 freestyle relay, in 4:07.23.
AMBERCHAN TAKES TWOSenior
Sam Amberchan (Alameda, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) was the third Gryphon to win a pair of events in the meet. She took first place in the 200 yard butterfly with a career-best swim of 2:41.77. She also touched the wall first in the 200 yard backstroke, posting a time of 2:35.93. Amberchan also contributed to the Gryphons' third-place swim in the 400 medley relay, alongside
Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento),
Rachel Barkowitz (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) and
Sarah Schnapp (Taiwan/Tzu Chi).
GRYPHONS' WINNING WAYSSarah Lawrence swimmers won each of the last nine events of the 11-race program. Risica won the 50 yard freestyle in a season-best time of 27.20, and added a third-place swim in the 100 freestyle (1:01.56). Quirk was the victor in the 100 free, breaking the minute mark for the first time in her career with a time of 59.88; she was runner-up in the 200 breaststroke (2:52.11) behind Lawson.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCESKroll was runner-up in the 200 backstroke and third in the 50 free. Barkowitz collected a fourth-place finish in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 200 breaststroke. Distance swimmer
Kiki Michaan (New York, N.Y./Saint Ann's School) collected second place in the 1650 freestyle and third in the 500 free.
Lydia Mullan (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) placed among the top five in all three of her individual events, highlighted by a runner-up swim in the 500 freestyle. Schnapp also did well in her solo races, including a fourth-place in the 400 individual medley.
