Box Score 4 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.-On the final two days of the Snowbird Softball event, Sarah Lawrence College took on Rutgers-Newark, Morrisville State College and Arcadia College at Grand Park on Wednesday and Thursday.
SLC (0-8) was unable to capitalize on any of its games. In Thursday's game against Arcadia (4-3), the Gryphons failed to record a hit, but rookie pitcher
Kamaron McNair (Lawrenceville, N.J./The Hun School) recorded a strikeout.
The Gryphons tallied three hits against Rutgers-Newark (5-3), beginning with a single by sophomore
Sarah Weldon (New York, N.Y./Millennium) in the fourth inning. McNair brought Weldon around to score with an RBI single up the middle, and rookie
Eleni Spentzouris (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) also hit in the inning.
On Thursday, first year
Em Hammett (Columbus, Ohio/The Wellington School) led off with a hit up the middle in SLC's rematch with Morrisville State (3-4). McNair hit her first career double in the game and also had a strikeout in the circle.
In the final game of the week, the Green and White faced off against Arcadia for the second time. Hammett again led off with a single, beating out a throw from second base. McNair had three K's in the game.
Sarah Lawrence has time off until beginning Skyline Conference play later this month. On March 28, the Gryphons travel to Mount Saint Mary College to make their conference debut.
