Box Score 2 BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—Sarah Lawrence College softball hosted Skyline rival Purchase College in a conference doubleheader at Mary LeVine Field on Saturday. After the Gryphons scored the first three runs of the afternoon, Purchase won both contests, 10-3 and 12-0.

Em Hammett (Columbus, Ohio/The Wellington School) put the ball in play and reached first base on an infield single. Senior
Tori Himes (Boulder, Colo./New Vista) followed with a hit down the right line, and rookie
Riley Vuyovich (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) followed with a shot to the same place, loading the bases.
First year
Kamaron McNair (Lawrenceville, N.J./The Hun School) plated Hammett with a fourth hit in a row. Himes then came home on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, rookie
Eleni Spentzouris (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) knocked an RBI-single into right center field, bringing Vuyovich to the plate for a 3-0 Gryphon lead.
Purchase (6-8, 2-6 Skyline) plated one run in the second inning and another in the third, trimming the gap to 3-2.
In the bottom of the fifth, McNair notched her second hit of the game, and sophomore
Erin Chafatelli (Nashville, Tenn./McGavock) followed with a single. Spentzouris reached base on balls, but the Gryphons stranded three in the frame.
Purchase changed the dynamic of the game by scoring seven runs—four earned—in the top of the sixth inning, taking a 9-3 advantage. The Panthers tacked on another run in the seventh to round out the scoring.
McNair struck out two batters in her complete game in the circle. At the plate, she added a seventh-inning double to finish 3-for-4 in the game. Chafatelli had her second multi-hit game of the season, finishing 2-for-4. Senior
Hayley Adams (Dover, N.H./Berwick Academy) also had a hit in the game.
PC's Samantha Alonzo earned her fourth win of the season with eight strikeouts while holding the damage to three earned runs off SLC's season-high 10 hits.
In game two, Purchase controlled the action from start to finish. The Panthers scored an even dozen runs in the first three innings while shutting out the Gryphons. Nicole Fortuna earned the shutout win with nine strikeouts and only one walk.
SLC recorded three hits in the game, including a second-inning single by McNair. Rookie
Isabel Lamont (Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames) recorded her first career hit in the third inning. In the fourth inning, Vuyovich hit her eighth double of the season; she currently leads the Skyline in doubles per game played.
Sarah Lawrence returns to Mary LeVine Field on Sunday to host St. Joseph's College Long Island at noon.
