Box Score 2 NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.-Sarah Lawrence College softball completed its regular-season with a four-game winning streak after sweeping The College of New Rochelle, 12-4 and 15-5, in a non-conference doubleheader at Flowers Park on Wednesday.
For Sarah Lawrence (5-20), the four-game winning streak matches the program's streak longest, and its five wins are second-most in team history. In 2011, the Gryphons defeated N.Y. City Tech and CNR in back-to-back doubleheaders; SLC beat CNR three other times that season to accumulate a 7-11 overall record.
In game one, the Gryphons scored four runs in the first inning, including two on a triple by rookie
Kamaron McNair (Lawrenceville, N.J./The Hun School), the first of her career. First year
Em Hammett (Columbus, Ohio/The Wellington School) had a hit in the inning, and classmate
Isabel Lamont (Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames) hit an RBI-single.
SLC scored five runs on six hits in the second inning. McNair batted in two more runs on a single, and senior
Tori Himes (Boulder, Colo./New Vista) also had an RBI-hit. Junior
Sam Amberchan (Alameda, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) batted in the last run of the inning to give Sarah Lawrence a 9-0 advantage.
New Rochelle (0-20) brought in one run in the bottom of the second.
SLC led off the third inning with five straight hits, adding three runs to take a 12-1 lead. Neither team scored again until CNR brought two Blue Angels home in the bottom of the fourth, 12-3. SLC was held scoreless in the fifth, and CNR rounded out the scoring with one run in the bottom of the frame.
McNair finished the day 4-for-4 with a season-high five runs batted in. She earned her fourth win of the season with five strikeouts against three walks and only four hits.
In game two, SLC scored two runs in the top of the first inning without recording a hit. CNR responded to take its first lead of the day after scoring three runs in the bottom.
The stellar inning of the day saw the Gryphons score 11 runs in the top of the second inning, despite having just three hits. Five walks and four hit batters helped the Green and White score five runs and load the bases. Amberchan singled to score two runs-her first multi-RBI hit of her career-and Hammett singled to score another run. Sophomore
Erin Chafatelli (Nashville, Tenn./McGavock) hit her second career triple to clear the bases, making it a 13-3 ballgame.
Neither squad scored until CNR plated a lone run in the bottom of the third. CNR also won the fourth inning, 1-0, trimming the deficit to 13-5.
In the Gryphons' final offensive inning of the night, McNair, Himes and senior
Hayley Adams (Dover, N.H./Berwick Academy) strung together three hits to bring around a run. Lamont also had an RBI hit in the inning, scoring the final run of the series.
Chafatelli batted in a season-high three runs, and rookie
Riley Vuyovich (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) stole two bases for the third time this season. Lamont went 2-for-2 at the plate scoring two runs and batting in two others; she also had her first career stolen base.
McNair won the nightcap with five strikeouts, allowing four earned runs on three walks and seven hits.

The Gryphons face defending champion St. Joseph's College Brooklyn at 5 p.m. and will play in either the championship or consolation game at 7 p.m.
