BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—The Gryphons won eight of 13 events as Sarah Lawrence College women's swimming captured first place at the 6th Annual Sarah Lawrence Sprint Carnival at Campbell Sports Center on Saturday.

VICTORIOUS GRYPHONS
Sarah Lawrence began the meet with a win in the 200 yard medley relay. Sophomore
Devon Peal (Springfield, Va./West Springfield), junior
Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School), rookie
Naima Joy Mackrel (Woodstock, N.Y./Kingston) and senior
Jacqueline Quirk (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) posted a combined time of 1:59.66 to touch the wall in first place.
Peal returned to the water to pick up an individual win in the 200 individual medley (2:29.62) and in the 200 freestyle with a season-best time of 2:10.55. Lawson earned a pair of solo victories with two season-best swims, taking first in the 100 freestyle (58.68) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.41). For her part, Mackrel also earned a pair of wins in the 50 backstroke (29.68) and 100 butterfly (1:06.16); Mackrel also placed second in the 100 backstroke (1:11.53).
The Gryphons' final win came in the day's last event. In the 200 freestyle relay, Mackrel, senior
Gabrielle Risica (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett), Quirk and Lawson put together another winning swim, clocking in at 1:50.36.
TOP GRYPHONS
Junior
Leah Myrtil (Boston, Mass./Elizabeth Seton Academy) earned a runner-up performance in the 50 freestyle, swimming a season-best 28.60. She added a third-place swim in the 50 backstroke (31.21). Quirk placed third in the 50 freestyle (29.00) and 50 breaststroke (37.85), adding a fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:36.49). Rookie
Sarah Blanche Klein (Locust, N.J./Ranney School) was runner-up in the 100 breaststroke (1:24.17).
Risica earned a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a season-best 1:00.97 and third in the 50 butterfly (29.74). Junior
Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento) had a top-three finish with a third place in the 100 backstroke with a season-best of 1:11.73. As a quartet, Myrtil, Peal, Kroll and rookie
Kaitie Dilan (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) earned third in the 200 freestyle relay (1:56.25). Kroll, Klein, Risica and
Sky Mihaylo (Albany, Ore./West Albany) placed fourth in the 200 medley relay (2:15.74).

Rachel Barkowitz (Fleming Island, Fla./Dedham (Mass.)) scored points with a sixth-place swim in the 50 breaststroke (39.18), while senior
Lydia Mullan (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) earned ninth in the 100 butterfly in 1:22.20.
