COBLESKILL, N.Y.—Winning 9 of 11 events, Sarah Lawrence College women's swimming picked up a victory in the team's first dual meet of the season, coming away with a 125-71 win against non-conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill at Bouck Hall Natatorium on Saturday.

Jacqueline Quirk (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) combined for a winning time of 4:21.93, missing the team record in the event by three seconds.
Mackrel, Peal and Lawson went on to combine for six of the team's eight individual-event victories. Sprinter Mackrel triumphed in the 50 freestyle (26.31) and 100 freestyle (58.93). Peal found success with wins in the 200 butterfly (2:34.44) and the 500 freestyle (6:01.51). For her part, Lawson swam to first place in the 200 freestyle (2:06.64) and with a season-best time in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.68). The trio of Gryphons scored 65 points in the meet, nearly as many as the squad of Fighting Tigers.
Junior
Rachel Barkowitz (Fleming Island, Fla./Dedham (Mass.)) swam to victory in the 1000 freestyle in her first-ever swim in the event. Her time of 14:12.60 was 10 seconds faster than her closest opponent. She also had a runner-up swim in the 200 individual medley with a season-best effort of 2:53.02. Senior
Gabrielle Risica (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett) also earned a victory, winning the 200 backstroke (2:28.09). She also swam to third place in the 50 freestyle with a season-best of 28.00 seconds.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Quirk finished among the top three in both of her individual races, taking second place in the 200 freestyle (2:15.57) and swimming a season-best in the 200 breaststroke (2:53.13). Distance specialist
Kaitie Dilan (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) also had a pair of top-three swims as the rookie touched the wall second in the 500 freestyle (7:02.23) and third in the 1000 freestyle (14:26.56).
Junior
Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento) posted a pair of third-place performances after competing in the 200 freestyle (2:21.09) and the 200 backstroke (2:33.01). Rookie
Sarah Blanche Klein (Locust, N.J./Ranney School) bettered her collegiate bests with her third-place time in the 200 individual medley (2:56.29) and fourth-place mark in the 100 freestyle (1:10.12).
Senior
Lydia Mullan (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) placed third in the 200 butterfly (3:08.74) and swam a personal best in the 200 backstroke (2:51.93). Junior
Leah Myrtil (Boston, Mass./Elizabeth Seton Academy) earned fourth place in the 50 freestyle (28.59).
