Box Score 2 NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Despite a hard-fought effort in game one, Sarah Lawrence College softball was defeated by Albertus Magnus College, in a non-conference doubleheader at Celentano Field on Friday.

GAME ONE
After the Falcons took a 2-0 lead through three innings, Sarah Lawrence responded in the top of the fourth. Sophomore
Baylie Petit (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) singled and advanced to third base on a double by rookie
Karissa McAuley (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie). Junior
Kamaron McNair (Lawrence Township, N.J./The Hun School) cleared the bases with a double, tying the game at 2-2. Rookie
Mackenzie Mindish (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) followed with a fourth-straight hit, scoring McNair with a double. Sophomore
Mikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington) batted in the Gryphons' fourth run of the inning, giving the Green and White a 4-2 advantage.
The Gryphons extended the lead in the fifth inning. Sophomore
Taryn Penna (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) singled and came home on Petit's second hit of the game. McAuley also had a single in the inning, and SLC held a 5-2 lead after five and a half innings.
Albertus Magnus damaged the Gryphons hopes by plating four runs (two unearned) in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Sarah Lawrence was held scoreless in the seventh to end the game.
McAuley pitched 5.2 innings in the game, striking out two batters. McNair finished the game by pitching the team's final out. Petit (2-for-4), McAuley (2-for-3) and Mindish (2-for-3) all finished with multiple hits and each came around to score one of the team's five runs.
GAME TWO
Albertus Magnus scored two runs to take the lead in the first before Sarah Lawrence responded with a run in the second. McAuley led off with a single, and a beanball put Cunningham on first base. Rookie
Kelsey Copley (West Jefferson, Ohio/West Jefferson) advanced the runners with a hit. Penna notched the team's third hit of the inning and scored Cunningham to halve the deficit, 2-1.
AMC scored seven runs over the next three innings, extending the Falcons' lead to 7-1.
Sarah Lawrence finished the day with a final run in the fifth inning. Penna led off with a single, while Petit singled and McNair hit an RBI-double. Albertus Magnus clinched victory with a run in the bottom of the frame, concluding the game 10-2.
McNair was dealt the loss in game two, pitching a two-inning start. McAuley finished the game, allowing just two earned runs over 2.1 innings.

Sarah Lawrence plays Skyline doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday on its home field. The Gryphons host St. Joseph's Long Island at 11 a.m. Saturday before facing Mount Saint Mary College on Sunday at noon.
