Box Score 2 BRONXVILLE, N.Y.—After being shut out in game one, the Gryphons fell one run short in game two, as Sarah Lawrence College softball took on College of Mount Saint Vincent in Skyline action at Mary LeVine Field on Sunday.

The Gryphons were held to two hits in game one. Rookie
Karissa McAuley (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie) singled in the first inning, while sophomore
Taryn Penna (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) notched a single in the fifth. Sophomore
Mikayla Cunningham (Mayville, Mich./Millington) reached scoring position twice after being hit by a pitch and drawing a walk on her first two plate appearances.
Penna led off game two by reaching first base on a wild pitch. Rookie
Mackenzie Mindish (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) followed with an outfield single, and sophomore
Baylie Petit (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) batted in the Gryphons' first run of the day with her single.
Mount Saint Vincent tied the game at 1-1 in the second inning, and the score remained tied until the sixth, despite back-to-back hits by Mindish and McAuley. The Dolphins then took the lead with a home run in the sixth.
In the seventh, rookie
Kelsey Copley (West Jefferson, Ohio/West Jefferson) led off with a single and advanced around to third base where she was stranded as CMSV closed out the sweep.
In the circle, McAuley struck out two batters in game one, while junior
Kamaron McNair (Lawrence Township, N.J./The Hun School) had a strikeout in game two. Cunningham relived in both games with one strikeout on the day.
UP NEXT
Sarah Lawrence hosts a pair of doubleheaders this week. On Wednesday, the Gryphons are slated to host Purchase College in a Skyline series that has already been rescheduled twice due to inclement weather. SLC plays host to non-conference opponent John Jay College on Thursday.
