CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Sarah Lawrence sophomore
Drew Lei-Alerta had a strong weekend, leading the Sarah Lawrence women's swimming team at the two-day Snow Flurries Invitational hosted by SUNY Cortland at Harriet Holsten Pool.
LEI-ALERTA SHINES
Lei-Alerta had a fantastic weekend, finishing with the second-most points (506.8) at the meet. The sophomore was the best swimmer in the 200-fly, touching the wall in 2:15.99, shaving four seconds off her previous season-best.
She was also the top performer in the 100-fly, finishing in 1:01.70, her best swim in the event this season. In addition, Lei-Alerta had her best performance of the year in the 200-IM, finishing second with a time of 2:19.40.
NOTABLE INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES
Audrey de Szendeffy had her best swim of the season in the 500-free, finishing in 5:49.51, a seven second improvement. She also had a strong performance in the 200-free, finishing in 2:14.30, a season-best. The sophomore also posted a top-10 finish in the 1650-free (20:18.86).
Katherine McKane posted a top-five performance in the 400-IM, finishing in 5:06.82. The rookie also had her best effort of the season in the 200-IM (2:21.16) and 100 breast (1:14.18).
Frankie Iannuzzi posted her best time of the year in the 200-IM (2:50.03).
GRYPHON RELAYS
A team of Lei-Alerta, Iannuzzi, McKane and Szendeffy recorded top-10 performances in the 200-medley relay (2:01.85) and 200-free relay (1:50.81).
