MADISON, N.J.—Sarah Lawrence College women's swimming broke three more school records while maintaining its second place standing at the conclusion of day two of the 2014 Ranger Invitational, hosted by Drew University, Dec. 5-7, at F.M. Kirby Pool.

The host Rangers lead the field with 127 team points, trailed closely by Sarah Lawrence with 118 points. Division II Queens College (95), Cedar Crest College (65) and Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham (57) round out the top five, followed by College of Saint Elizabeth (39), Ocean County College (37) and The College of New Rochelle (13).

For the second time this season, the SLC 200 yard medley relay broke the team record in the event. Sophomore Gabby Risica (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett), rookie Hannah Lawson (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community School), and sophomores Colette Harley (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) and Jacqueline Quirk (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) swam a time of 2:00.59. The mark was a full second better than the same foursome's record set during the season opener on Nov. 1.

Sam Amberchan (Alameda, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) posted the team's season-best swim in the 400 individual medley. Clocking in at 5:40.62, the junior secured second place in the event.

The Gryphons broke their second team record in the 100 butterfly. Harley was 0.36 second faster than her own mark, touching the wall in 1:03.06 for second place overall. Two other Gryphons qualified for the final, as Sarah Schnapp (Taiwan/Tzu Chi) and Lydia Mullan (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) both swam collegiate bests to earn seventh (1:17.88) and eighth place (1:19.32), respectively.

Senior Alexis Bates (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) made an appearance in the final of the 200 freestyle. The SLC distance specialist took 5.57 seconds off her preliminary time, placing fourth with a season-best time of 2:14.79.

Lawson posted the second-fastest time in qualifying for the 100 breaststroke, but the rookie took 2.65 seconds off her preliminary time to win the event in 1:13.19. Her performance was nearly two-thirds of a second faster than her own SLC record, making it the Gryphons' third and final school record of the day.

Also in the 100 breaststroke final, Quirk (1:19.77) came away with a fourth-place finish, while rookie Rachel Barkowitz (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) earned seventh place in 1:26.75.

In the final individual event of the day, Risica swam the 100 backstroke in 1:10.29, earning third place overall. Rookie Elizabeth Kroll (Sacramento, Calif./The Met Sacramento) also qualified for the final and took 1.5 seconds off her preliminary time to earn sixth place in 1:12.88.

During Saturday's preliminaries, senior Sonia Abraham (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) swam a season best in the 200 yard freestyle. Abraham and sophomore Sky Mihaylo (Albany, Ore./West Albany) each swam the 100 breaststroke for the first time this season, while rookie Zoe Berg (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) swam her first collegiate 200 freestyle.

Action at the Ranger Invitational continues on Saturday with preliminaries starting at 9 a.m. and finals at 4 p.m.
